Post-Wildfire Geohazard Reports

2023 Wildfires

As a result of the 2023 wildfires, the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (the “Province”) has identified certain properties within TNRD boundaries that are subject to post-wildfire geohazard risks.

Structures and lands were identified as being susceptible to post-wildfire geohazard risks, including but not limited to sediment transport and erosion due to debris flow, debris flood, rock fall, landslides, floods, and debris slides. As a resident and/ or property owner, you must satisfy yourself as to whether your property is subject to any risk identified in the report.

Geohazard Reports from Previous Years

As a result of the 2021 Wildfires, the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (the “Province”) has identified certain properties within TNRD boundaries that are subject to post-wildfire geohazard risks. The following reports have been received by the Province and forwarded to the TNRD:

July Mountain Fire (K61882)

Lytton Creek Fire (K71086)

Sparks Lake Fire (K21001)

Tremont Creek Fire (K21849)

White Rock Lake Fire (K61884)

As a resident and/or property owner, you must satisfy yourself as to whether your property is subject to any risk identified in the report(s).

As a result of the 2017 Elephant Hill Wildfire, the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development has identified certain properties within TNRD boundaries that are subject to post-wildfire geohazard risks.

Structures were identified as being susceptible to post-wildfire geohazard risks, including but not limited to sediment transport and erosion due to debris flow, debris flood, rock fall, landslides, floods and debris slides.
