About the TRHD

Governance: The Thompson Regional Hospital District (TRHD) is administered by the Thompson Regional Hospital District Board, under the Hospital District Act, and is located within the Interior Health Authority.

Purpose: Like all Regional Hospital Districts in B.C., the TRHD generally exists to borrow funds and finance construction projects or equipment purchases at facilities within its boundaries. Capital projects are cost-shared between the Province of BC and TRHD.

Structure: The TRHD Board membership includes the entire TNRD Board of Directors, as well one elected official from the following areas:

  • Columbia-Shuswap Regional District –  Electoral Area “F” 
  • Squamish-Lillooet Regional District – Electoral Area “A”
  • Squamish-Lillooet Regional District –  Electoral Area “B”
  • District of Lillooet

Thompson Regional Hospital District Board Approves 2024 Budget

Thompson Regional Hospital District to Decrease Tax Requisition

Kamloops, BC – September 13, 2023 – The Thompson Regional Hospital District (TRHD) Board of Directors has initiated the process to decrease its tax requisition for the 2023 budget. Hospital districts in B.C. typically fund 40% of capital equipment purchases at healthcare facilities within hospital district boundaries, with the Province of BC funding remaining amounts.
