The Thompson-Nicola Regional District covers an area of 44,449.42 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 133,000. The largest population in the region is in the City of Kamloops, which accounts for 78% of the total population. Merritt is the only other City in the region.
Municipally-incorporated communities include the District Municipalities of Logan Lake, Barriere and Clearwater, the Villages of Chase, Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Clinton and Lytton, and the Mountain Resort Municipality of Sun Peaks.
