The Finance Department provides support and service to all departments, Board of Directors, and the general public. It is responsible for the preparation of the annual operating budget that establishes the tax rate for each service that the TNRD provides. In addition to taxation, there are local services such as water, sewer and garbage which are funded through user fees.
The TNRD does not directly collect taxes. The Provincial Government Agents office is responsible for the collection of taxes in the rural areas of British Columbia. Municipalities collect the regional district taxes directly from citizens within their boundaries.
If you live in a member municipality, please contact your municipal office. If you live in a rural area of the TNRD and you have questions regarding your tax notice, please contact your local Service BC Centre.
