Residents Reminded to Access Libraries for Relief from Heat

Kamloops, BC – August 14, 2023 – Libraries are a cool place. The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre and the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL) are advising residents to visit their local library if they need access to a cooler public space during this current stretch of hotter-than-normal weather.

All 12 community libraries in the Thompson-Nicola region are equipped with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. To find locations and hours of operation for all Thompson-Nicola library branches, please visit: tnrl.ca/locations.

The TNRL has been dedicated to lifelong learning for Thompson-Nicola residents for 49 years, celebrating literacy and transforming lives through knowledge and information. While our libraries allow residents to find a reprieve from hot weather, they are also community spaces which spark creativity, engagement, and community connections.
