TNRD’s Response to COVID-19

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is closely monitoring information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and has developed a plan based on the recommendations of health officials to ensure every precaution is taken to keep public and staff healthy and safe.

Currently, all TNRD services and Library locations remain open. Our Library programs are continuing as planned; however, we will be temporarily suspending two of our Library services: Reader’s Home Services and public computer access in all branches.

These services will be suspended immediately. Members of the public who are symptomatic will be asked to leave the premises. If you encounter this situation, please alert your supervisor or manager.

These decisions were made to help prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 to residents who are at high-risk for severe illness from the virus, and to limit the transmission from contaminated surfaces.

If you are unable to visit our branches in person, please note that our digital services are always available. Access eBooks, eMagazines, eAudiobooks and kids resources; and use online resources from the comfort of home with your TNRL Library card. For assistance using any of these services, call your local TNRL branch. If you have any questions about other TNRD-provided services in your community, please call 250-377-8673 or toll-free in BC at 1-877-377-8673.

The TNRD will continue to monitor the news and recommendations of health officials and will take additional steps as needed.

If you are feeling sick, please stay at home and take care of yourself. We want everyone to stay healthy!

If you have flu-like symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider. Or call HealthLinkBC at 811 toll-free in BC (711 for the deaf and the hard of hearing toll-free in BC) and speak with a health service navigator.
