Kamloops, BC – August 2, 2022 – Nomination packages are now available for Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Electoral Area Candidates in the 2022 General Local Elections. The official Notice of Nomination can be viewed here.
There are two ways to receive a candidate nomination package:
- Online: Nomination packages can be downloaded by visiting the General Local Elections 2022 webpage by clicking here. Under the tab “Information for Candidates,” potential candidates can find the full nomination package, instructions, and the Notice of Nomination.
- In-person: Nomination packages may be picked up during regular office hours from the TNRD Civic Building fourth floor, located at 465 Victoria St, Kamloops, BC. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (excluding statutory holidays).
Completed candidate nomination packages can only be received by the Chief Election Officer, or a designated person, between Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 9 am and Friday, September 9, 2022 at 4pm.
Dropping off nomination forms in person is preferred, as this will include a review of all documents to ensure they are filled out correctly, which will mitigate any potential delays in processing the nomination application. To make an appointment, please contact the Chief Election Officer at 250 377-7051, or email your request to book an appointment to elections@tnrd.ca. It will be up to the candidate to ensure documents are completed correctly and delivered to the TNRD by Friday, September 9, 2022 at 4 pm.
The General Local Elections take place on Saturday, October 15, 2022. All eligible residents are encouraged to seek candidacy or to vote in their Electoral Area.
