April 8 update: Effective immediately the Boil Water Notice for the Blue River Community Water System has been rescinded.

March 30 update: The TNRD has restored power to the Blue River Community Water System and is in the process of flushing the system. Flushing is focusing on the trunk mains with the smaller diameter lines being completed in the morning.

The Boil Water Notice for the Blue River Community Water System will remain in place until further notice.

Finally, we thank all residents for their patience during this interruption and encourage you to continue to conserve water as the system recovers. For specific questions, please contact the TNRD toll free at 1-877- 377-8673 or by email: utilityservices@tnrd.ca

The TNRD is actively working to restore power to the Blue River Community Water System. As a result of the outage, the water system will be chlorinated while crews flush the system.

In addition, due to potential contamination caused by loss of water supply and pressure, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District is issuing a Boil Water Notice for the Blue River Community Water System, effective immediately.

Further, we ask that all residents restrict their water use while the system recovers.‌

It is imperative that water be boiled or disinfected until further notice. You may also choose to use an approved alternative water source. Water intended for drinking, washing fruits or vegetables, making beverages or ice, or brushing teeth must be boiled for one minute.

The acceptable boiling or disinfection method is as follows:

  • Bring water to a rapid boil for at least one (1) minute.

Should someone other than the property owner occupy the residence (such as a tenant), please provide this information to them.

For specific questions, please contact the TNRD toll free at 1-877- 377-8673.
