Kamloops, BC—March 19, 2021 – The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has now released a public Request for Proposals on BC Bid for the independent, third-party financial review and audit of the TNRD’s financial records.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) is soliciting qualified and experienced proponents to submit a Proposal to conduct a special financial review and forensic audit. This is a scored solicitation process and a contract for the services will be awarded to the Proponent with the highest score based on established evaluation criteria. Newly appointed CAO, Scott Hildebrand, and Director of Legislative Services, Deanna Campbell both started with the regional district in 2020 and will oversee the entire RFP process.
The financial review will be carried out independently by the successful Proponent with full cooperation from the TNRD. The review will not be limited in scope and will include a thorough review of all management and Board of Director expenses and expense reporting, examination of past accounting and financial controls, contracting and purchasing practices and a review of current policies and processes, with the goal of making recommendations and identifying areas for improvement. It is expected that the successful Proponent may further add to the scope and will develop a terms of reference for the work.
The release of this RFP is an important first step to get the review underway and the TNRD is committed to have the financial review completed as quickly as possible and the results made public.
Full accountability and transparency are the goals as the review takes place. The TNRD will make any further changes necessary to improve our policies and processes.
