Update: Green Lake and Area OCP Amendments – Public Meeting Cancelled

Kamloops, BC – September 16, 2022 – The Green Lake and Area Official Community Plan (OCP) is unique in that the Plan area covers lands within both the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) and Cariboo Regional District (CRD). The TNRD and CRD propose amendments to the OCP as relates to Section 20.0 Development Permit Areas (DPAs) of the Bylaw. The proposed changes emanate from some challenges property owners and staff encounter through the implementation of the OCP’s three DPA requirements as they are currently worded. The proposed amendments will provide additional clarity to the OCP’s Riparian Development Permit Area and limit the scope of the OCP Hazardous Lands and Environmentally Sensitive Development Permit areas to larger or more major development projects.

As a first step in the public consultation process, the TNRD and CRD will host a public meeting on October 1, 2022 at the Green Lake Snowmobile Club (see meeting poster). Both Regional Districts encourage residents to attend or provide written submissions regarding the proposed changes.
