Curbside Collection Service Partially Restored in Avola and Blue River Following Break-In

Kamloops, BC – May 6, 2024 – Customers in Avola and Blue River in Electoral Area “B” (Thompson Headwaters) who regularly receive curbside pick-up on Mondays are asked to place their bins on the curbside for pick-up this afternoon. Following a break-in at the Blue River Eco-Depot last week and damage sustained to the main curbside collection truck, a back-up collection truck is now in place.

The back-up truck may not be able to complete the entire route today; if your curbside waste is not collected by 4:00 pm, please bring your bin in and place on the curb during your next regular collection day.

As a reminder, all waste accepted in your curbside bins can be dropped off at the Blue River Eco-Depot. Disposal fees continue to be waived for local residents while this issue is ongoing.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work towards full service restoration following last week’s break-in.
