2023 Annual Report Highlights Key Projects and Service Delivery

Kamloops, BC – April 17, 2024 – The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) is pleased to present the 2023 Annual Report. Members of the public are encouraged to read the Annual Report online or by picking up or requesting a physical copy.

The Annual Report is meant to inform residents of TNRD projects, services, and financial information. For residents and the general public, the Annual Report helps increase awareness and understanding of areas serviced by the TNRD and of regional, sub-regional, and local services provided by the TNRD. The Annual Report is also a tool for accountability and transparency to residents.

A number of large-scale projects were completed in 2023 which are explained in the report. These include initiating fire protection service in Monte Creek, completing renovations to the McLure Fire Hall, rebuilding the Loon Lake Fire Hall, expanding FireSmart™ programming, opening the Aberdeen Tiny Library in southwest Kamloops, completing a new groundwater source in Black Pines, park upgrades in Lower Nicola, and more.

Further, the report includes metrics from many staff departments to share results of day-to-day service delivery, and includes information on Emergency Operations Centre activity in 2023 as a result of impacts to TNRD residents from flooding and wildfires.
