Kamloops, BC – March 1, 2023 – The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) is providing notice that two requests for proposal (RFPs) have been issued for Solid Waste Management Services for TNRD Eco-Depots, Transfer Stations, and landfills.
The two RFP contracts each cover a term of five years, with proposed contract work commencing on July 1, 2023, and ending on June 30, 2028.
Proposals are now being accepted from qualified firms for the provision of solid waste facility operations, maintenance and hauling services in two separate regions of the TNRD, as listed below:
- Nicola Valley and Western TNRD (12 facilities)
- Thompson Valley (17 facilities)
Each RFP will be open until March 24, 2023 at 4 pm.
The TNRD will be hosting an information meeting for prospective proponents about these RFP opportunities on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1:30 pm. This meeting will be held as a webinar. Please register ahead of time, using this link: https://bit.ly/3IVkF54.

The TNRD owns and operates 27 solid waste facilities and two landfills to provide solid waste disposal services for residents. Historically, services at these facilities have been provided by contracted companies with a set term length of five years.
