Rural Residential Zoning Changes

To align with updated legislation from the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC), the TNRD is proposing changes to Zoning Bylaw 2400. These changes would allow more flexibility and opportunity for a second detached residence for both ALR and non-ALR rural Class 9 Farm properties.

A recommendation was provided by TNRD staff to the Board of Directors on February 24, 2022. The report explains the proposed changes in detail. Click on View Report to learn more.

The ALC has created an extensive list of Frequently Asked Questions to address recent changes to increase residential zoning flexibility in the ALR. Click on View Frequently Asked Questions to learn more.
