Greener and Cleaner Communities

Do you know of some great community clean-up activities in your neighborhood? Non-profit and volunteer groups doing community clean-ups can apply to drop off garbage at no cost at TNRD waste management facilities. This initiative encourages the work of volunteer groups who donate their time to help beautify and protect publicly owned land such as parks, playgrounds, roads and lake/river shoreline in our region.

Community Clean-up projects are eligible, as long as they are conducted by volunteers on behalf of a non-profit society or volunteer community group. This initiative is for garbage only.

Recyclable materials such as paper, plastic, metal and glass containers, etc., Product Stewardship materials, such as tires electronics, appliances, etc. must be separated for recycling.  For Hazardous and Operational Impact Materials such as asbestos, gypsum, large barrels or drums, etc. please visit the What Goes Where page to learn how to recycle and dispose of items the right way.

Apply to the TNRD at least five business days before your community clean up. To apply, call 250-377-8673 or email recycleright@tnrd.ca with the following details:
