The Board of Directors of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District gives notice that it will hold a Public Hearing in the TNRD Boardroom, 4th Floor – 465 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC, to consider proposed Bylaw Nos. 2754 & 2756.

What is Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2754, 2021?

This Bylaw will rescind Land Use Contract Agreement Bylaw No. 162, 1974 and amend Bylaw 2400 by rezoning 3973 Highway No. 97 (legal: Lot 1, Sec 2, Township 18, Range 14, W6M, KDYD Plan EPP40190) from AF-1: Agricultural/Forestry to RVP-1: Recreational Vehicle Park. The application also contemplates a site-specific amendment to allow for one additional dwelling unit on the property. The applicant wishes to abandon the Land Use Contract and permit development of seasonal recreational residential opportunities in recreational vehicles. The applicant also wishes to replace a second dwelling unit that was completely lost in the 2021 White Rock Lake wildfire in August 2021.

What is Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2756, 2021?

This Bylaw will rescind Land Use Contract Agreement Bylaw No. 308, 1976, as it applies to the subject property, and amend Bylaw 2400 by rezoning 3361 Niskonlith Lake Road (legal: The West ½ of Fractional Legal Subdivision 10, Sec 6, Township 21, Range 13, W6M, KDYD except Plan 28712) from AF-1: Agricultural/Forestry to CR-1: Country Residential. The applicant wishes to maintain residential and some farm uses in a semi-rural environment.

All persons who believe that their interest in property may be affected by the proposed Bylaw shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to provide input to the Public Hearing. Due to Public Health Orders and Boardroom capacity restrictions, they are encouraged to make written submissions on the matter of Bylaws 2754 & 2756 (via the options below) which must be received at our office prior to noon on the 16th day of November, 2021. If they wish to speak at the Hearing, please contact us to arrange to attend virtually via Zoom.
The entire content of all submissions will be made public and form a part of the public record for this matter.
