Evacuation Order – Nohomin Creek Wildfire – Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country)

An Evacuation Order has been issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), effective as of July 14, 2022 at 6 pm, because of the potential danger to life and safety due to the Nohomin Creek wildfire event.

An evacuation order is now in effect for approximately 24 addressed properties in the following area of Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country):

  • Northwest of Lytton: west of the Fraser River, north of IR27 and south of IR9B, along Spencer Road, as outlined on the attached map.

Individuals who are evacuating should take Spencer Road North to Lillooet for emergency egress. The route south to Boston Bar on the west side of the Fraser River has been compromised due to the spring freshet, and the Lytton Ferry remains out of service due to high water.

What You Should Do:

  • If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately.
  • To receive Emergency Support Services, please self-register using the Evacuee Registration & Assistance (ERA) tool: ess.gov.bc.ca, or report to the Reception Centre, located at the Lillooet Rec Centre, 930 Main Street, Lillooet B.C.
  • Make arrangements to stay with family or friends (if possible).
  • Gather family; take a neighbour or someone who needs help.
  • Take pets in kennels or on a leash.
  • Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, keys) only if they are immediately available

Emergency Support Services will only be provided if your primary residence is one of the properties under evacuation order.
