Pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the BC Emergency Program Act, an Evacuation Order has been issued by Chair Ken Gillis from the Thompson-Nicola Regional District at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Kamloops.
A wildfire event located in the vicinity of Whitecroft is threatening structures and the safety of residents in Electoral Area “P” (Rivers and the Peaks).
Because of the potential danger to life and safety, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued an evacuation order for 7 properties addressed as:
- 2720 Heffley-Louis Creek Rd;
- 2765 Heffley-Louis Creek Rd;
- 2789 Heffley-Louis Creek Rd;
- 2810 Heffley-Louis Creek Rd;
- 2817 Heffley-Louis Creek Rd;
- 2845 Heffley-Louis Creek Rd;
- 6225 Lake Bay Rd; and
- any other properties within the boundary noted on the attached map.
If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately.
Emergency Support Services will only be provided if your primary residence is one of the properties under evacuation order.
There is currently no commercial lodging available in Kamloops. If your primary residence has been evacuated, please stay with friends or family for the night and then report to the McArthur Island Sports Centre, located at 1655 Island Parkway in Kamloops, tomorrow (July 20) between 0900 and 1600hrs to register for Emergency Support Services.
