Pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the BC Emergency Program Act, an Evacuation Order has been issued by Chair Ken Gillis from the Thompson-Nicola Regional District at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Kamloops.

A wildfire event located in the vicinity of Sparks Lake is threatening structures and the safety of residents in Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country).

Because of the potential danger to life and safety, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued an evacuation order for the following 9 addressed properties:

• 1280 to 2245 Copper Creek Rd;
• 2040 to 3672 Sabiston Creek Rd;
• 320 to 360 Savona Dump Rd;
• 7788 to 7821 Savona Station Rd; and
• any other properties identified on the attached map.

If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately.

Emergency Support Services will only be provided if your primary residence is one of the properties under evacuation order.
As there is no commercial lodging available in Kamloops if one of the properties under evacuation order is your primary residence, please make arrangements to stay with family or friends.

If you are in need of Emergency Support Services please report to the McArthur Island Sports Centre located at 1655 Island Pkwy in Kamloops. The Reception Centre will be open at 1000 hrs on July 13, 2021.
