Evacuation Alert Lifted – Watching Creek Wildfire – Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country)

The Evacuation Alert issued on August 1, 2022 by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District has been lifted effective August 9, 2022 at 1600 hrs.
The Evacuation Alert issued has now been downgraded to All Clear for approximately 1 addressed property (McQueen Lake Environmental Education Centre) in the following areas of Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country) as described below:
The northwest edge of the Lac Du Bois Grasslands Protected Area, and east including Pass Lake, McQueen Lake, and Isobel Lake.
Should conditions change, an Evacuation Alert and/or Evacuation Order will be reinstated as necessary.
