Evacuation Alert – Electoral Area “I”, “M”, and “N”

An evacuation alert has been issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.

Based on the current weather outlook and modelling from the River Forecast Centre, heavy rainfall
in the Southern Interior poses a potential threat to people and property in the Coldwater and Lower
Nicola watersheds.

Due to the danger to life, health, and property the Thompson-Nicola Region
has issued an evacuation alert, as identified on the attached maps for the following areas:
• Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country);
• Electoral Area “M” (Beautiful Nicola Valley – North); and
• Electoral Area “N” (Beautiful Nicola Valley – South)

This evacuation alert has been issued so that residents in low-laying areas adjacent to vulnerable
rivers, streams, and creeks can prepare to evacuate their premises or property should it be
necessary.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an evacuation order being
issued, however you may receive limited notice due to quickly-changing conditions.

The following 49 addressed properties remain on
evacuation order as previously issued:
• 2500 Cleasby Rd;
• 3121 Coldwater Rd
• 4900 and 4930 Dot Ranch Cut-Off Rd;
• 5080 Dot Ranch Cut-Off Rd;
• 5100 Dot Ranch Cut-Off Rd;
• 5200 and 5240 Dot Ranch Cut-Off Rd;
• 4141 FX Ranch Rd;
• 2185 Graham Rd;
• 5260 to 5580 Manning Creek FSR;
• 2972 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 5265 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 7210 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 7380 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 7620 to 8100 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 8600 to 9100 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 9300 to 9989 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 10300 and 10320 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 818 Midday Valley Rd;
• 700 and 750 Neilson St;

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
• Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area,
should an Evacuation Order be called while separated;
• Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable
papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for
dependents and, if time and space permits, keepsakes for quick departure;
• Prepare to move disabled persons, children and/or neighbors if assistance is needed;
• Prepare to take pets with you and move livestock to a safe area (if possible);
• Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill gas tanks of personal vehicles;
• Arrange accommodation for all members of your household.
