An Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Kamloops.
A current wildfire in Electoral Area “O” (Lower North Thompson) and Electoral Area “P” (Rivers and Peaks) poses a threat to the structures and residents for the following 231 addressed properties: • 6277 to 6365 Bonaparte Lake Rd; • 5045 to 6657 Boulder Mountain Rd; • 7719 Bowden Rd; • 205 to 225 Carilla Rd; • 5669 to 5745 Carlson Rd; • 7284 to 7328 Darfield Frontage Rd; • 201 and 211 Dianna Rd; • 168 and 245 Disdero Rd; • 740 to 952 Glenacre Rd; • 216 to 325 Gorman Rd; • 149 to 601 Hwy 5; • 798 Hwy 5; • 807 Hwy 5; • 1005 Hwy 5;
• 1927 to 3311 Hwy 5; • 4742 to 4867 Hwy 5; • 5208 to 5765 Hwy 5; • 6125 to 6799 Hwy 5; • 6960 Hwy 5; • 7050 to 7657 Hwy 5; • 9829 Hwy 5; • 9833 Hwy 5; • 122 to 180 MacColl Rd; • 2 to 273 McLure Ferry Rd; • 460 and 480 Meyer Rd; • 4115 to 4669 Peterson-Betts Rd; • 208 to 216 Poplar Rd; • 425 and 456 Price Rd; • 211 and 212 Sadlier-Brown Rd; • 796 to 825 Shook Rd; • 325 to 421 Walterdale Rd; • 780 Westsyde Rd; • 1477 to 4896 Westsyde Rd; • 4596 Wolsey Rd; and • any other properties within the boundary noted on the attached map.
Because of this, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert for these properties, effective at 1000 hrs on August 16, 2021.
This Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation; however you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
• Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be called while separated.
• Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents and, if time and space permits, keepsakes for quick departure.
• Prepare to move disabled persons, children and/or neighbours, if assistance is needed.
• Prepare to take pets with you and move livestock to a safe area (if possible).
• Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles.
• Arrange accommodation for all members of the residence, if possible.
• Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued before evacuating. Monitor for information on evacuation orders and location of Reception Centres.
