October 17, 2018 Update
On Oct. 17 the new entrance to the Civic Building was unveiled with a grand ceremony befitting such a grand project.
On hand were TNRD and Library staff, Chair John Ranta, CAO Sukh Gill, as well as Kamloops Art Gallery President Manju Singh, architect Kevin Ryan from BlueGreen Achitechture, and Darren Hank from N & H Contractors.
The new-look entrance features floor-to-ceiling windows, a security/information desk, a cafe space (to be opened in January) and an educational map of the TNRD region.

Creating a New Entrance at the Civic Building
Beginning April 30, the front entrance to the Civic Building in Kamloops will be closed off as we embark on a 4-month project to redesign and capitalize on the space that is currently just an open courtyard. It will create a large foyer for hosting events, and will feature a more visible entrance facing Victoria Street. The addition will also improve the safety of the entrance area. This page will provide updates and information about the project as it progresses.
Access during construction
Access to the building during construction will be via a walkway that faces Victoria Street, beside the Civic Building's parkade ramp. The location can be seen on the information sheet below.
