2010 Accomplishments
- New Book Drop at 70 Mile.
- Relocated North Kamloops Library, Outreach Services and the Bookmobile.
- New telephone robot for holds.
- Wireless services expanded to North Kamloops, Ashcroft and Barriere.
- New Computer Lab at North Kamloops Library.
- Internet access upgraded in Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Chase, Clinton, Barriere, Logan Lake, Merritt, Savona and Clearwater libraries.
- New Self-Check machines (2 of them) at the North Kamloops Library.
- Partnership with Kamloops Immigrant Services and KELLI to deliver a Mother Goose Program for Immigrants.
- New shelving for the Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Clinton, and Chase libraries.
- Early Literacy Kits.
2010 Key Activities
- Summer Reading Club storytimes on the Bookmobile.
- Kamloops received Raise-A-Reader Grant for Children's Materials.
- Participated in Raise-A-Reader Day in various communities.
- North Kamloops Library started a Teen Advisory Board.
- Lite Catalogue launched for dial-up patrons.
- Kamloops library staff participated in :
- Kamloops Heritage Days - September 25, 2010
- Bookmobile Parades in Ashcroft/Clinton
- Emergency Operation Center training
2011 Objectives
- Merritt Library will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in the new library building and the City of merritt is celebrating their Centennial year.
- Self-check machines and self pick-up holds for Kamloops Downtown and Merritt Libraries.
- Video games collection pilot project.
- Telephone Robot overdue courtesy calls.
