Water Rates
The Cost of Water: There's a cost to providing reliable, safe drinking water. This includes the costs for operating and maintaining the system, replacing equipment and building reserves for the future. There's also a cost to ensuring the system meets the criteria of the Drinking Water Protection Act - necessary for everyone's health and protection.
For some smaller water systems, where the increases are substantial, the TNRD Board of Directors has agreed to continue to provide a financial subsidy by limiting the monthly rate to $100, even though the actual cost may be greater. This applies only to current TNRD-owned water systems and will not be applicable to any systems acquired in the future.
