      Andy's family settled in Ashcroft in 1965 where he went through high school. He then went onto Cariboo College and BCIT. His first trade as a heavy duty mechanic served him well when he entered into a partnership and built a very successful trucking company. In 1993 Andy sold his share in the trucking company and purchased the Ashcroft Irly Building Centre which has shown co ntinued growth over the last 11 years. Andy, a private pilot, lives at the Ashcroft-Cache Creek airport and enjoys flying a two seat biplane. He loves Ashcroft and intends to stay.

      John Ranta, a UBC Science graduate who was born, raised and lived in Vancouver for 25 years prior to relocation to Cache Creek in 1972, was first elected Mayor of the Village of Cache Creek in 1990 and is in his fifth consecutive term. During that time he has served in a variety of local government positions including, President, Union of BC Municipalities; Chair, Thompson Nicola Regional District and Trustee, Municipal Finance Authority. John is married to Carmen and they have four children. During his non-political moments he has been employed as a Greyhound Bus Driver for the past 32 years.

      Patricia Wallace was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, moving to Kamloops in 1974. She is a businesswoman, free enterpriser as well as a strong and active supporter of her community and region. Pat is a recipient of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. Pat's varied career background is matched only by her extensive community involvement. Some of her service includes the Royal Inland Hospital Board, United Way President and Campaign Chair, Coordinator of the Kamloops Blood Donor Clinic, Director of the Kamloops Exhibition Association, Media Director of the first BC Festival of the Arts, Director of the SPCA, Miss Kamloops Pageant Judge, Campaign Chair of the Kamloops Canadian Cancer Society, Director of the Air Show Society, and Director of the Kamloops Aids Society. Her community activism led her into local politics where she is presently serving her 17th year as both a Kamloops City Councilor and a Director on the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Board. Pat was first elected to the Union of BC Municipalities in 1995 as a Director-at-Large, a position she held until being elected Third Vice President in 1999. During her years on the UBCM Board she served on many committees. She completed her last term on this Board in September as Past President. Her political career has also extended to the regional association OMMA (Okanagan Mainline Municipal Association) as a Director for several years. She has served as a Director on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities for the past four years. On a national level she serves as Vice-Chair of the Green Municipal Funds Council.

      Marlon Dosch

      Dosch grew up in Kamloops, graduated from Norkam High School and the University College of the Cariboo (now Thompson Rivers University). He currently works for the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and has for the past 30 years in such places as Clearwater, 100 Mile House, and currently Merritt. In 2007 he achieved his Registered Forest Technologist designation and has served on the District of Logan Lake Council since 1999 – three terms as councillor and two as mayor.

      In addition to these duties Dosch is also the President of the community owned Logan Lake Community Forest Corporation and sits on a variety of regional boards and committees. Marlon was also the Founder and President of the extremely successful Western Cup of Pond Hockey in Logan Lake, now known as the Varion Pond Hockey Classic. In his spare time he enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and would like to get back into oldtimers hockey. He is a huge fan of both the BC Lions and Vancouver Canucks.

      Susan Roline

      Roline is a lifetime resident of Merritt who is married and has three adult children and three grandchildren. Roline spent her entire 40 year career working in banks, working up from a teller to a Senior Account Manager, and retired in 2009.

      This is her second term as Mayor of Merritt. Roline has also been involved as a volunteer for various local organizations since she was a teen and achieved the honor of Citizen of the Year in 1996.

      Roline enjoys time spent at her home, helping her husband Sam look after their 525 feet of riverfront wildlife sanctuary right in the city. She also enjoys a competitive round of golf, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Music is her real passion, and even though she did not take up her family's tradition of playing instruments or singing, she does manage to attend as many music events in Merritt as she can. Most days you will find Susan at City Hall or about town engaged in a favorite topic - Merritt and its great potential.

      R.H. (Ronaye) Elliott

      Born in Calgary, Ronaye spent most of her elementary and high school years in the Alberta city. She graduated from high school in Kelowna and then moved to Vancouver where she attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Ronaye married in 1960 and moved to the North Thompson area. She has lived in a number of communities within the regional district including Valemont and Avola, serving on numerous boards and committees throughout the years. Elliott was also the Electoral Area “B” (Thompson Headwaters) Director for seven years.

      In 1986 Ronaye and her husband moved to Six Mile Ranch and worked in the ranching industry. In 1998 the two retired and moved to Cherry Creek. After her husband’s passing in 2003 Elliott continued raising horses with the help of her granddaughters.

      Ronaye was elected to the Board for Director of Area “J” (Copper Desert Country) in 2002. She was the first ever Chair of the Drinking Water & Utilities Committee and currently sits on the Solid Waste Management Plan Implementation, Emergency Management and Protective Services, Policy Review, and Drinking Water & Utilities Committee. Ronaye also has her Level 2 Justice Institute of British Columbia Emergency Operations Centre and Emergency Evacuations certificate, plus her LGLA Level 2 Leadership certificate

      Rice moved to Spences Bridge in 1988 as a single parent with his three children after 15 years in telecommunications. He got into the fruit and vegetable farming business at his father’s farm - Hilltop Gardens. A few years later he met his future wife Paulet, who was also a single parent of two girls, and now twenty years later Rice and his wife have five kids and seven grandkids.

      Upon moving to Spences Bridge Rice began writing for the Ashcroft-Cache Creek Journal and soon after he launched the Bridge Bulletin, a small paper for the residents of Spences Bridge. Rice has written hundreds of articles about the rural B.C. lifestyle, and he also currently owns a small cafe with his wife called The Packing House. He also continues to grow apples, peaches and tomatoes at their acreage Secret Gardens where he resides with Paulet, his father-in-law, four dogs, three cats and a nightly chorus of coyotes.

      Gillis has lived in the Kamloops area since 1963 except for a few years spent at Rivers Inlet. Most of his career has involved the trucking industry, working as a truck driver, small fleet owner and later selling trucks for Kamloops Mack. For a number of those years, Ken lived in Pritchard, where he raised a few head of beef cattle and developed an enduring affection for the ranching community and a rural lifestyle. After years in the trucking industry, he returned to school, earned a law degree and practised in Kamloops and Chase, with a focus on Motor Vehicle and Motor Carrier law, until the sale of his firm to John Drayton. In the late 1990's he owned and operated Duncanby Landing Lodge and Marina on the central coast.

      Following the sale of his marina and lodge in 2005, Ken returned to Pritchard. For a couple of years he was back on the road, driving long-haul for Dan Gamache Trucking, before retiring from the highway in 2010.

      Born in Cranbrook, BC in 1945, Herb spent all of his high school years in Revelstoke, BC. Merritt, where he raised two children with wife Anjalien, has been his home for the past 43 years.
      Herb is very familiar with the Nicola Valley having seen many changes over the years. He also knows the opportunities and the challenges facing the Nicola Valley.
      From 1993 to 2003 Herb held a position on the Board of Directors for Paradise Lake CO-OP Association. He was involved with the development, promotion, operations and management of the Resort.
      He has been a charter Member of the Merritt Sunrise Rotary Club since 1998 and held the position of President for the 1999-2000 term .
      He is currently the Chair of the City of Merritt Tourism and Economic Development Committee.
      Herb, a private Pilot, is retired after 40 years in the retail grocery business and is prepared for his second career as a TNRD Director.



      Bonnie CruzelleMyram

      CruzelleMyram was born in 1944 in Vancouver and graduated from Britannia Secondary School in the area. She married Donald Paul Crueller and had two children in Vancouver before moving to Castlegar where CruzelleMyram completed her Practical Nurses Training. She then moved to McLure with Donald, however he was tragically killed in an industrial accident in 1974. CruzelleMyram worked for School District #73 in a variety of positions, retiring in June of 2010 after almost 40 years of employment.

      In late 1975 CruzelleMyram met James Richard Myram who had three children from a previous marriage. Jim passed away in 2008, leaving CruzelleMyram with their dog Askem, who travels everywhere with her. Currently CruzelleMyram is on the Board of the Yellowhead Pioneer Residence Society, and an active member of the Barriere Cemetery Committee. This is her third term on the Board of Directors as the representative for Area "O" (Lower North Thompson).
